Perforated metal exterior, which allows light from the inside, adorns the facade of the building. The technique used to create this exterior should be similar to that used in The Park Hotel in Hyderabad. In the case of The Park Hotel the effect of the perforation creates that of Gems but for Delhi Art Gallery it is that of Sandstone Mughlai Window such as this.

This design is certainly embracing both the modern and the 13th Century Delhi. It is situated in the old area of Hauz Khas  and has been revitalised recently. The gallery combines floors of different buildings and hence the challenge was to combine them into a cohesive floor.
